GREETINGS FROM SOUTHEAST ALASKA!
As Alaska Bound Charters launches into the festive season, it’s exciting to reflect on our 2025 cruises and anticipate the year ahead.
Last summer, we had some wonderful weather, spectacular wildlife encounters, and many delicious meals featuring local seasonal Alaska ingredients sourced by Chef Alisa and our guests!
Our 92-foot M/Y Dauntless, custom made for luxury living on the water, is now tucked into her slip in Petersburg harbor, and we are setting our sights on our spring launch. Many of our 2026 summer trips are starting to book up, so if you are thinking about joining us for one of our all-inclusive charters, here is what’s in store for you and your family and friends:
SITKA SPRING TRIPS CELEBRATE WHALE TAILS AND HERRING SPAWN
Our Sitka spring trips celebrate the return of light, life and wildlife to Southeast Alaska. After a long winter, millions of herring return to the area to spawn and eagles, whales, and sea lions join in the feast. The abundance of wildlife in the water, on the land, and in the air is unlike anything else, and the opportunities for nature photography for both professionals and novices are extraordinary.
Sitka Spring Availability:
- 3/8-3/14 Petersburg to Sitka
- 3/18-4/18 in Sitka
- 4/20-4/27 Sitka to Petersburg
EARLY SUMMER SEASON TRIP AND LITTLE NORWAY FESTIVAL
Every May, Petersburg celebrates its Norwegian heritage with the Little Norway Festival. Our early summer season trip from 5/18 to 5/25 launches right after the 2026 festival. It’s the perfect opportunity for guests to arrive early and experience this unique event that highlights our town’s Scandinavian heritage.
Preseason charter guests enjoy the sollitude before the high season of visitors with extraordinarily serene waterways. There are also unique opportunities to forage for fiddlehead ferns, deer heart lettuces and spruce tips, all of which Chef Alisa will incorporate into her Norwegian- inspired culinary creations that week!
Little Norway Festival Trip:
- 5/18 to 5/25 Post Petersburg’s Iconic Little Norway Festival
AUGUST FAMILY EXPEDITIONS WITH BEARS AND BERRIES
August is traditionally when families take that late summer vacation to get a breather and share some quality time together before the school year begins. We have two August trips available, and this is peak season for extraordinary wildlife viewing because the bears are feasting on the late summer salmon runs to beef up before the winter.
This is also when Alaska’s wild berry season is in full swing and our guests of all ages can savor their pickings in Alisa’s wonderful culinary creations.
August Family Trips:
- 8/12-8/19 Petersburg to Juneau
- 8/21-8/28 Juneau to Juneau
TIDE AND TABLE UPDATE
We have been busy with Two Doors Down, the film production company that is featuring us in a documentary entitled Tide and Table, which highlights what we do and the incredible community here in Petersburg. The film will debut here in Petersburg in December and then in New York City.
Stay tuned for updates on that as well as Alisa’s cookbook in the making. Years in the making and a labor of love, the cookbook will feature more than 100 Alaska centric recipes delivered from my galley to your kitchen.
