Accommodation onshore is not included in our rates, however we are happy to assist and give recommendations for options in Petersburg and Juneau. In fact, clients often spend a day or two extra exploring the towns, with host of activities offered it’s the perfect way to extend your Alaskan adventure.

We recommend a duffel type or soft bag as this can easily be stored in the closet in your rooms. We will provide detailed packing suggestions at time of booking, but key items are good hiking boots, layers, cameras, and your swimsuit.

We will have intermittent cell service/ Wi-Fi available on the boat. AT&T is the strongest provider in Southeast Alaska. Verizon has very little service. We are typically not out of service for more than two days at a time and we have two satellite communication devices which can be used in emergency situations. Of course, I’m sure you will agree, Alaska is one of the most rewarding places to disconnect and fully immerse yourself in the off-grid experience but there are companies you can rent a satellite phone from if you need to be in service.

Our locations for activities vary depending on itineraries, interests, weather etc. but hiking, beachcombing, and kayaking are popular options. We have kayaks, a variety of single and doubles as well as two stand up paddleboards to use at your leisure. We also have fishing equipment available to use. A sturdy rigid inflatable is used to travel to/from the boat for shore excursions.

Check our boat schedule for up-to-date availability then simply go to the Book a Tour / Contact us page. Fill in our inquiry form and we will get in touch as soon as we can. Or if you prefer to discuss your requirements over the phone, give us a call +1 907-518-1272.

We will do our best to accommodate any specific date/itinerary requests, based on availability. We try to customize each trip based on the specific guests, their interests and capabilities so let us know what you would like to do.
Alaska in the summer is the best place to be. Sun, mountains, ocean, and the small towns are a hive of activity. That being said, Petersburg lies in the heart of a temperate rainforest. The weather is unpredictable, and you should be prepared for all conditions. Summertime highs average about 60 degrees Fahrenheit. The annual precipitation in Petersburg is approximately 110 inches, similar to the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. Luckily about half of this precipitation occurs in the months of October, November, and December, but it’s best to pack a waterproof rain jacket all year round. Petersburg gets 18 hours of daylight on the longest day in the summer, which means plenty of time enjoying the scenery out on the deck. We recommend sunglasses, sunscreen, a good hat, a windbreaker, and some extra layers when the sun drops. Bring outdoor waterproof shells and rubber boots for onshore excursions as well as kayaking or boat trips.

Typically, seasickness is not an issue. Most of our cruising is done in the protected inside waters and the boat has 2 stabilizers, which along with its 23’ beam provide a very comfortable, stable ride. If you are prone to motion sickness you may want to ask your doctor about a prescription for a motion sickness patch (you will want to apply the patch prior to boarding the boat if you want it to be immediately effective) You could also pick up some over-the-counter medicine (Bonine or Dramamine) or seasickness bands.

Bugs in Alaska are an unfortunate reality for our land excursions. They are less frequent out on the water but can still be a nuisance.

Generally, the warmer months of June, July, and August would be the worst. We would recommend bringing a good bug repellent whatever time of the year you are traveling.

We are both Wilderness First Responder certified. There is an AED on-board alongside an EPIRB (emergency-position-indicating beacon) and GPS devices to get medical help in case of an emergency.

Chef Alisa is always full of surprises. Typical meals include fresh Alaskan Seafood such as Salmon, Halibut, Black Cod, Rockfish, Crab, and Spot Prawns. We also serve a variety of locally raised (WA state) meats. Check out her Instagram @chefalisajestel to see samples of her cuisine!
